Google Classroom can be utilized as a tool to streamline "communication, document review, and assignment submission" within laboratories and seminars.
The "Stream" may be used for announcements and updates regarding the seminar. Unlike email, past communications are less likely to get buried, making it easier to check all necessary information in one place.
・Checking Announcements:
Notifications regarding schedule changes or classroom locations may be posted. Since you can re-read these posts at any time, it is convenient for double-checking meeting locations and times.
・Pre-session Questions and Discussions:
It may be used as a space for asking questions beforehand to deepen seminar discussions or for exchanging opinions among members.
Manuals, reference materials, and templates necessary for seminar activities may be organized primarily under the "Classwork" tab.
*Note: Please follow the specific instructions of your laboratory or seminar regarding the location and management rules of these materials.
Accessing and Obtaining Shared Documents:
Materials used throughout the year, such as exercise documents, thesis writing guides, and presentation templates, may be published here. You can refer to or download the necessary files at any time.
Shared Link Collections:
The "Material" feature may be used to organize links to frequently used websites or shared drives. Using this as a collection of bookmarks allows for efficient access to information.
Classroom may be used as the submission portal for various reports and presentation materials.
Submitting Assignments and Checking Status:
Assignments can be submitted via the "Classwork" tab. You can easily see statuses such as "Assigned" (Not submitted) or "Turned in" (Submitted) at a glance, helping to prevent missed deadlines. If a deadline is set, the due date and time will also be displayed.
Communication and Questions for Instructors or Other Students:
If you need to communicate regarding an assignment, you can use two different comment features:
・Private Comments (to Instructor): You can send a message visible only to the instructor. This is suitable for personal consultations or specific questions.
・Class Comments (to Everyone): These comments can be seen by everyone in the class. Use this to share points of clarification about the assignment or to exchange information with other members.
・Checking Feedback and Revision Instructions:
Instructors may return your submitted assignments with comments or grades. If revision instructions are provided, you can review the details and resubmit your work.
・Checking Your Understanding (Quizzes, etc.):
Quizzes linked with Google Forms may be distributed. You can answer and submit these online, and depending on the settings, you can check the correct answers and your score immediately.
