ANGITU ACADEMIC PROGRAMMES

TE KAUPAPA

Te Whare Angitu is an innovative approach to teaching and learning for Uri. We will be providing Uri with a range of opportunities to become Uri Whai Tukuihotanga, Uri Whai Mātauranga and Uri Whai Oranga. These opportunities complement the in-kura learning and experiences provided by our Kura and Kaiako.

Te Whare Angitu delivers online and wānanga learning across a range of kaupapa to support our Kura and Uri ki te Whai Mana Motuhake. Our Mātāpono guide how we teach and learn within Te Whare Angitū, and we have high expectations for our kaimahi, kaiako and Uri who engage with our courses.

You can find out more about the programmes currently on offer below.

MĀ WAI ĒNEI HŌTAKA ?

We are currently focusing on NCEA pathways for our Uri in kura tuarua. Uri who want to enrol in our programmes should be:

  • passionate about learning

  • committed to working in innovative ways - online, through wānanga ā kanohi, and independently

  • working at level 5 of the curriculum in Te Reo Māori and level 4 in English. Pāngarau courses require level 5 of the curriculum in numeracy.

  • digitally literate

  • academically ready to study at Level 1 NCEA

  • supported by their kura

Our programmes are not 'year level' specific and are focused on providing learning to any Uri who is ready. Uri will be expected to meet entrance criteria before they can enrol.

We will prioritise Uri who do not have a specialist Pūrau (STEM) subject teacher at NCEA level at their kura.

At this stage, we are limiting the number of Uri who can enrol from each kura to five.
