At the moment, Taryn is undecided on a university, but she plans on studying Spanish, teaching, and psychology focusing on the area of mental health.
Her advice for students taking the Seal of Biliteracy exam is, "It's not as bad as it is intimidating. Try your best, take it every year that you can so you'll know what to expect, you guys got this."
Her favorite memory from Spanish class was her teacher Mrs. Parker. Taryn says, "She was who made me truly want to follow Spanish and become fluent. I had always loved it before, but she was the most kind and amazing teacher."
To Taryn, Biliteracy "means I can do it. The hard work paid off. I can speak enough basic Spanish that I have had the opportunity to conversate with Spanish speaking customers at my job."
In the future, she plans "to become completely fluent and either teach others or at least use it for travel. I want my children to grow up in a bilingual household."
Taryn adds a final note of gratitude. "Thank you teachers and Kearney for giving us this amazing opportunity!"
