Artificial Intelligence, commonly referred to as AI, is not one singular thing. Rather, AI is an umbrella term for a growing set of modeling capabilities simulating human intelligence processes, performed by computer systems. Computer code, deep neural networks, transformers, and machine learning work together to mimic the way human brains operate, enabling machines to process and analyze vast amounts of data, recognize patterns, and generate a range of outputs (text, audio, video and code). In simpler terms, AI allows machines to perform tasks that would usually require human intelligence.
"We must ensure that such technologies are employed to augment human capabilities, not to replace them, to preserve the inherently relational and emotional aspects of teaching and learning."
