Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA)

The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a ministry that welcomes and prepares adults who wish to become members of the Catholic faith. The RCIA program provides a process of conversion and spiritual formation that includes prayer, study, and community involvement. RCIA candidates are introduced to the teachings of the Catholic Church, its sacraments, and its practices, and are given the opportunity to discern whether the Catholic faith is right for them. The RCIA program also includes the celebration of the various Rites of Christian Initiation, including the Rite of Acceptance, the Rite of Election, and the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Confirmation, and Eucharist). The goal of the RCIA program is to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for adults seeking to enter into full communion with the Catholic Church. Overall, RCIA is an essential ministry in the Catholic Church that plays a vital role in welcoming new members into the Catholic faith community.
