Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS)
The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS) is a unique and contemplative approach to religious education, rooted in the principles of Montessori pedagogy. It offers a rich spiritual formation experience for children, inviting them to encounter and deepen their relationship with God through hands-on, sensorial activities. CGS sessions take place in a specially prepared "atrium," where children engage with materials that represent key elements of the Christian faith, such as parables, liturgical objects, and scripture passages. Guided by trained catechists, children are given the freedom to explore and reflect on these materials, allowing their natural curiosity and spirituality to flourish. The CGS approach honors the unique spiritual journey of each child, fostering a deep sense of wonder, contemplation, and love for God. By nurturing a personal and experiential encounter with the mysteries of faith, CGS supports children in their spiritual growth, enabling them to become active participants in the life of the Church.
