Year 1 VG Writing a Non-Chronological Report
As part of our nonfiction unit, the children have been learning how to write a non-chronological report. They learned that it involves presenting information in a clear and organized way, without focusing on when events happened. They are exploring topics like animals, including their habitat, diet, appearance, and fun facts. To kick off the topic, we visited the animal farm at KISU to see the rabbits. We discussed their habitat, what they eat, their appearance, and shared interesting facts. The children gathered information on a planning template, which helped them write their non-chronological report on 'All About Rabbits'.

Sparking Curiosity through Collaboration: Bringing Measurement to Life for Year 2AN Learners
Learning becomes truly exciting when it connects to real life, and that’s exactly what happened when our Year 2AN learners teamed up with a high school teacher, Mr. Akweri, for a special session on measurement. This unique collaboration brought fresh energy into learning, transforming abstract concepts like height, weight, capacity, and temperature into hands-on, real-world experiences.
The highlight of the visit was an exciting trip to the high school’s science lab, where 2AN students had the opportunity to explore measurement tools in a real scientific setting. From the moment our young learners stepped into the lab, there was a buzz of excitement. Mr. Akweri introduced everyday situations where measurement plays a key role—checking the body temperature , weighing ingredients for baking, or figuring out how much water fits in a bottle. These simple but powerful examples helped students see the importance of measurement beyond their textbooks.
A digital thermometer became a fascinating tool as students learned how we measure temperature and why it’s important for things like dressing appropriately for the weather or knowing when we have a fever.
The joy of learning was visible in every curious question and every eager smile. This collaboration wasn’t just beneficial for our students—it was also an eye-opening experience for the high school teacher, who saw firsthand how young minds begin to grasp mathematical concepts and how curiosity is the key to deeper learning.
This experience was a beautiful reminder that education isn’t just about lessons; it’s about connections—between subjects, between students and teachers, and between the classroom and the world outside. We’re excited to continue creating these inspiring learning moments that make knowledge come alive for our students!

Position,Direction and Movement
Year 1 were very excited about their Math topics. They explored different ways to find answers by following instructions both in the classroom and outdoors.
Working in teams, they practiced moving forward and backward, left and right, and positioning themselves above or below objects.
Through fun, hands on activities, they deepened their understanding of position, direction, and movement while building confidence in using mathematical language. Well done!

2CN's recent "A Healthy Me" unit has been a vibrant journey of discovery, filled with laughter and learning about how to take care of our bodies. We began by exploring the world of food, creating colorful food triangles and learning about the importance of a balanced diet. It was fantastic to see the children enthusiastically identifying different food groups and understanding how they contribute to our health.
We then shifted our focus to personal hygiene, with a particular emphasis on handwashing and dental care. The children learned the proper handwashing techniques, understanding why it's so important to keep our hands clean. We also had fun practicing our brushing skills, learning how to keep our teeth sparkling and healthy. Not forgetting that we must also get enough rest and sleep.
The most energetic part of our unit was, without a doubt, our focus on physical activity. The classroom transformed into an exercise floor, and the playground was a hub of active games and laughter. It was wonderful to see the children discovering the joy of movement, feeling their hearts beat faster, and experiencing the strength in their bodies. It's been a truly rewarding experience to see 2CN embrace healthy habits and learn the importance of taking care of themselves.
