Grade 7 Fall Trip Summary: September 18 -20, 2019
KIS Middle School has developed an amazing opportunity for our students to experience a classroom without walls. We will be taking all the middle school students out to explore and learn in the beautiful natural areas of Korea on September 18-20, 2019. We will leave KIS around 8:15am on the morning of Wednesday, September 18th and return on Friday, September 20th at 2:30pm to ensure students can ride the bus home. Our grade seven students will be going to Sindu-ri Beach and areas around Taean National Park.
Although we will not be on campus during this time, these days are considered typical school days. These learning opportunities are a vital part of the Middle School curriculum and adhere to our school wide goals. Grade 7 students will be spending their nights at the, Sky and Sea Resort, on Sindu-ri Beach. Your student will be working in small groups and will be accompanied by their teachers and guides who are there to help facilitate the activities over these three days.
Students will be transported by school-arranged busing and will have meals arranged by a local restaurant. The school insurance will cover your student while we are out in the field, just like it does here at school. We will have medical personnel on each trip, along with many staff certified in first aid and CPR to take care of any minor medical issues that may arise.
In the TRIP RESOURCES section of this page you will find links to the permission slip/medical form, a packing list, the itinerary, and all other information you will need to have a safe and enjoyable trip. The required waiver forms from the companies we will be using during our trips also need to be printed, filled out, and returned to the advisory teacher. These waivers have been translated from Korean to English.
Thank you for supporting this exciting, experiential education trip. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
