Grade 5 Experiential Education Trip Summary: September 26-27 2019
KIS Elementary School has developed an amazing opportunity for our students to experience a classroom without walls. We will be taking the grade 5 students out to explore and learn in the beautiful natural areas of Korea. We will leave KIS around 8:15am on the morning of Thursday, September 26th and return on Friday, September 27th at 2:30pm, to ensure students can ride the bus home. Our grade 5 students will be going to Chuncheon.
Although we will not be on campus during this time, these days are considered typical school days. These learning opportunities are a vital part of the Elementary School curriculum and adhere to our school wide goals. Grade 5 students will be spending their night "camping" at Baksa Village, a glamping site in Chuncheon. Your student will be working in small groups and will be accompanied by their homeroom teachers and guides who are there to help facilitate the activities over these two days.
Students will be transported by school-arranged busing and will have meals arranged by local restaurants and by KIS staff. The school insurance will cover your student while we are out in the field, just like it does here at school. We will have medical personnel on each trip, along with many staff certified in first aid and CPR to take care of any minor medical issues that may arise.
In the TRIP RESOURCES section of this page you will find links to a packing list, the itinerary, and all other information you will need to have a safe and enjoyable trip.
