S1 Rugby Team win the McDermott Shield

The S1 rugby team did themselves proud winning the McDermott Shield today at Highland Rugby Club. This is the first time Kingussie High School has won this trophy which is a brilliant achievement!

It was a hotly contested tournament, so close that it was decided on ‘Tries scored’ after finishing on the same amount of points as Culloden.

The boys were all outstanding scoring some brilliant team tries. Captain Bobby Russel lead by example all day and scored some great tries!!

S2 Rugby compete for Cameron Cup

It was the S2 boys turn today at Highland Rugby Club competing for the Cameron Cup. They were very unlucky not to come home with the cup losing two late tries to a strong Nairn side.

The boys did themselves proud and have shown they can compete at a very good level.

S3 Rugby Festival

Lovely day at Highland RFC for S3 rugby festival. The boys stuck in well after tough matches against strong Fortrose and Grantown sides.

There were many standout performances including some strong tackling from Charlie Campbell (S2) and good leadership from captain Geordie Wemyss. A big Congrats should also go to Charlie Ferguson for scoring a good solo try!

Thanks to Mr Ash for driving the minibus!

S3 Student Brodie Macbean was recently weld tested which is a requirement for certain work. Brodie was tested for his fillet welding and the certificates came in this week and he successfully passed. This is a very high standard test that they have to do and the samples are taken away by the assessor to be independently scanned and assessed for the quality of the weld. The assessor said that Brodie is one of the youngest, if not the youngest, in Scotland to have passed this exam. Well done Brodie

Highland Disability Sports Day - Inverness

A fantastic day out was enjoyed at the Highland Disability Sports day in Bught Park Athletics Stadium, Inverness. Our team came back with three gold medals and lots of happy faces. Everyone participated in the events and supported each other to compete.

World Dance Championships - Orlando

KHS pupils Brigitte Anderson and Cloe O’Neil recently competed in the World Dance Championships in Orlando with their team Rockstar. Their team took a very respectable 13th place in a very tough competition. Well done girls

S3 Duke of Edinburgh

We have had a brilliant time on the first S3 expedition with clear stary skies overnight and a wonderful spot for breakfast before walking out today. Forecast is to stay clear and warm for Wed-Thurs group so remember sun cream, water, food and personal medication with a final check over your kit list for all other items (on g.classroom).

S3 Duke of Edinburgh

The second S3 expedition of the week has commenced with all walkers in great spirits for another sun drenched sing along through our local wilderness. The trip also doubles as our annual Kingussie High School competition for the most kit carried on the outside of a bag apparently 😂Big shout out to all the adventurers and staff over the next two days
