Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Program (Years 3–6)
At Kingswood Primary School, our Year 3 to 6 students participate in the enriching Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden (SAKG) program, a unique hands-on learning experience that combines gardening, cooking, and healthy eating. This program not only builds practical life skills but also supports our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience, and Curiosity.
Through planting, harvesting, preparing, and sharing meals, students develop essential Habits of Mind such as working interdependently, persisting, managing impulsivity, and striving for accuracy. The garden and kitchen become classrooms that nurture creativity, teamwork, and a strong sense of community.
We are incredibly grateful to Bianca and Sonia, whose leadership and dedication have created an inclusive and inspiring learning environment where all students feel valued and empowered to contribute.
We warmly invite parents, carers, and members of our school community to volunteer and support our enthusiastic young chefs and gardeners. Your involvement helps make this program truly thrive and continues to inspire our students every day.
