The Value of Our Biennial Whole-School Performances
At Kingswood Primary, our biennial whole-school performances are more than just a showcase of talent – they are a vital part of our students’ education and wellbeing. Through the process of rehearsing, collaborating, and performing, students develop important Habits of Mind such as persistence, managing impulsivity, thinking interdependently, and creating, imagining, and innovating.
These performances give students the confidence to share their learning in a creative way, strengthen their communication skills, and foster resilience as they work towards a common goal. The experience also plays an important role in promoting emotional wellbeing, as students feel a sense of pride and achievement when they see their hard work come to life on stage.
Just as importantly, these events bring our community together. Parents, carers, staff, and friends share in the joy of the performances, creating strong connections and celebrating the diverse talents of our children. They remind us that when we come together as a community, we create an environment where every child can thrive – on stage and beyond.
