This session recaps why checking for understanding is crucial in driving learners forwards in learning the curriculum, to consider what makes effective and less effective knowledge checks (focus on checking inclusively), to support teachers by proving a toolkit of strategies to effectively check understanding.

James is the Associate Assistant Headteacher SENCo at KAP. Prior to joining KAP, James was head of centre at a specialist provision in Reading.
The session aims to raise awareness of specific learning difficulties including those associated with low literacy and dyslexia. Classroom strategies and relevant support and assessment.
The session provides a toolkit for teachers to use both in and outside the classroom that can support those with specific learning difficulties.

The aim of the session is to raise awareness of the Neurodiversity of Autism in general. We plan to provide teachers with a variety of strategies to try out in the classroom. There is no blueprint for the Neurodiversity of Autism and not all children will respond to the same strategies, so we aim to provide a toolkit for teachers to have ready to use.

This session is to inform teachers of what a processing delay looks like in a classroom, how to support students and resources to provide equity for SEND students.
It explores what it means if a student has a processing delay, the implications for the students and practical ways to support students.

Emma is Second in Performing Arts at KAEP. Kirsty is Assistant Headteacher at KANP. Sami is Head of Performing Arts at KAEP, Senior Teacher - Teaching and Learning and ITTCo.
The session explores strategies to encourage and increase active learning, student participation and engagement.
Teachers will be given a practical demonstration of three active learning strategies. They will learn how to perform these strategies and the benefits of them. Teachers should be able to implement the strategies easily within their lessons.
Lorraine Walsh
Lorraine is the Trust Director of People and has worked in the HR and Learning field for 30 years. Her role at KGA is to deliver a strategy that enables all our people to do their best work in a challenging but supportive working environment.
Having difficult conversations at work can be daunting and often avoided. This session will help you prepare for the next time you face a challenging conversation.
This session gives tips and helps you build strategies to prepare for and manage challenging conversations in a productive way. The focus will be on having a clear plan and working to minimise the emotions that can often derail difficult conversations.
Louisa Perkins
Louisa is KGA's International Director. She joined the trust in 2022 following 12 years working as a Head of Primary and in wider School Development at British International Schools in Asia. Her role requires her to lead on the strategy and development of the International Dimension which is the golden thread to ensuring KGA provides 'Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage'.
The aim of this session is to give teachers practical tools to create internationally minded classrooms which offer enriching opportunities for students and staff to thrive in an increasingly global society.
The session includes an introduction to KGA's International Dimension and the opportunities it provides for both students and staff. It will address why KGA believes so passionately in providing 'Opportunity and Success on a Global Stage and how teachers can become a part of that vision. A range of strategies are shared and discussed to guide teachers in embedding global mindsets in their classrooms and curriculums. Finally, Louisa will provide practical examples of how to establish, plan and deliver partnership projects with schools across the globe.
