  1. Open up your mystery book in Epic
  2. Read another 2-3 chapters (if you finish your book, start a new one!)
  3. Go to Seesaw
  4. Go to the activity Thursday, April 23
  5. Using Somebody, Wanted, But, So, Then or a 5 step retell, write or record a retell to your book so far

Wednesday, April 22

  1. Open up your mystery book in Epic
  2. Read another 2-3 chapters (if you finish your book, start a new one!)
  3. Pick your favorite scene from your book so far
  4. Visualize what the setting and characters look like
  5. Draw a picture either on paper or on Seesaw (Make it as detailed as you can!)
  6. Post your picture on Seesaw in the activity named Reading: Wednesday, April 22

Tuesday, April 21

  1. Open up your mystery book in Epic
  2. Read another 2-3 chapters (if you finish your book, start a new one!)
  3. Go to Seesaw
  4. Go to the activity named Reading: Tuesday, April 21
  5. Answer the questions:
    1. What does your character want right now?
    2. What is motivating them in your book to solve their problem?

Monday, April 20

  1. Open up your mystery book in Epic
  2. Read another 2-3 chapters (if you finish your book, start a new one!)
  3. Go to Seesaw
  4. Go to the activity named Reading: Monday, April 20
  5. Come up with 1 character trait with evidence for your character
  6. Use the resource on Seesaw if you are stuck

  1. Open up your mystery book in Epic
  2. Read another 2-3 chapters (if you finish your book, start a new one!)
  3. Go to Seesaw
  4. Go to activity named Reading: Story Mountain
  5. Start to fill out your story mountain for your character (If you have not finished your book, save the activity as a draft)
    1. We are reading mystery! You can put clues on your story mountain too!

Thursday, April 9 (Optional)

  1. Open up your mystery book in Epic
  2. Read another 2-3 chapters (if you finish your book, start a new one!)
  3. Go to Seesaw
  4. Go to activity named Reading: Story Mountain
  5. Start to fill out your story mountain for your character (If you have not finished your book, save the activity as a draft)

Wednesday, April 8

  1. Open your mystery book in Epic
  2. Read another 2-3 chapters

  5. List 3 things you notice your character saying and 3 things you notice your character doing

Monday, April 6

  1. Open Epic
  2. Choose your 1st Mystery book that you are going to read
  3. Read the first 3 chapters (If you have already read 1 chapter, you should re-read it)
  4. Go to Seesaw
  5. Go to the activity named Reading: April, 6
  6. Post the title of your mystery book that you have chosen

Week 2

Welcome to week 2! We are going to be finishing our nonfiction unit this week! Please complete these last few activities and lessons so we can move on to fiction next week! Happy learning!

Friday, April 3

  2. Complete the reflection under the activity Reading: Friday, April 3
  3. Go to Epic
  4. Look through the collection that Mrs. Park assigned you
  5. Find 2-3 mystery book that you would like to read
  6. Choose 1 of your favorites and read the first the chapter

Thursday, April 2

  1. Go to Epic
  2. Choose 2 nonfiction animal books about the same animal (2 books about penguins, 2 books about frogs, 2 books about bunnies)
  3. Read the section of EACH book that talks about what the animal eats AND take boxes and bullet notes
  4. Go to Seesaw
  5. Complete the activity named Reading: Thursday, April 2

Wednesday, April 1

  1. Go to Epic
  2. Find a non-fiction book that really interests you
  3. Read the book, remember to read fluently and take your time
