Week 4 Adventure: What are We Going to do in the Fall to Bring Community Back Together?

This week you are designing a project that we can do in the Fall to help our community. You will use the goal that you chose last week to design it and then we will send it to our new principal Mrs. Jones so she can approve them!

Friday, May 29

  1. If you completed your pitch, you now need to work on your visual project!
  2. Go to Padlet
  3. Create a visual to persuade or convince me and Mrs. Jones (Our new principal of Burke Town School) that this project will help our community
  4. In your visual, answer the following questions:
    • What is the Global Goal you chose?
    • What is your project that you want to do in the fall?
    • What are the materials or things that you need to complete your project?
    • How will this project help our community?
    • Who are some people in our community or school that could help with this project?
    • How will you know if you/your project was successful?
  5. Be Creative! Look at the examples to the right to help you get your idea. Make sure you answer all the questions!

Thursday, May 28

  1. If you completed your pitch, you have feedback on Seesaw
  2. Go to Seesaw
  3. Read the questions that I asked about your project
  4. Edit your post, adding more details to your pitch. You will start your visual project tomorrow to go with the pitch. It will be important to have as many details as possible!

IF YOU HAVE NOT completed your pitch, you need to do that today so I can give feedback on it for tomorrow. Follow the directions from Tuesday to help you!

Tuesday, May 26

  1. Go to the Padlet

  3. Think about how you want to help the global chose in the last activity in our community. What could be a project you could implement in the fall to help the goal you chose?
  4. Fill out the Project Pitch Chart on Seesaw under the activity "Project Pitch"
  5. Write as many details as possible, this will help you in thinking about your project
  6. Include information that you learned from the resources on the padlet

Week 3 Adventure: How has Community Been Affected by the Pandemic?

What are some ways that poverty has affected our community during the pandemic? What are some ways that the pandemic has affected people's ability to access food? How has the pandemic affected your learning? Follow along with the Padlet and directions to answer all of these questions in our week 2 adventure!

Friday, May 22

  3. Pick the goal that you are the most passionate(care the most)
  4. Write why you are passionate (care the most) about that goal
  5. Draw a picture or make a visual of:
    • How our community looks right now with the goal you chosen being affected (Ex. A picture of what poverty looks like right now in our community)
    • How you wish our community looked right now if we solved the problems the goal asks us to work on (Ex. A picture of what poverty in our perfect community would look like)
    • Something that you can do as a project to help the goal that you have chosen (Ex. A project that would help people in poverty right now)
  6. Take your time and use I care work!

Thursday, May 21

  3. Review the 3 goals that you read about and researched
  4. Which goal do you feel has been most affected by the pandemic? No poverty, Zero Hunger, or Quality Education?
  5. Write 5-6 sentences about which one you think is the most affected. Use facts from your readings, articles, graphics, and information you know about our community to backup your opinion
  6. Remember to use "I Care" work!

  8. BONUS: Create another video of you doing one of the ideas that you brainstormed
