In Summer 2021, five brave KLS students fought through Zoom fatigue, heat waves, and bedroom boredom to master the art of digital publishing in just five weeks!
Along the way, they covered creative writing fundamentals:
‣ Characterization: Protagonists & Antagonists
‣ Choosing a Narrator & Point of View (POV)
‣ The Narrative Arc Plot Structure
‣ Common Genres
‣ Peer Editing
Contrary to popular assumption, they weren't hurting their backs hunched over an ancient typewriter, nor were they scrawling with a pencil. Using their 21st-century skills, these tech-savvy young writers typed until they could type no more! Each writer chose a unique D-I-Y (Do-It-Yourself) project in order to finesse the foundations of the online article:
‣ Instructional & formal writing
‣ How to check the word count
‣ How to add hyperlinks to pages
‣ The importance of photos & images
‣ The Author's Biography
