THE DIARY by Avianna Chu
Dear Diary,
Today was like any other day. I got ready for school, ate breakfast and got ready for my favorite day at school: CAREER DAY! We met a doctor, nurse, dentist, author, mathematician and more. I think I want to be an author.
Dear Diary,
You won’t believe what happened this morning. I got out of bed and a gold coin was on my desk. I flipped it, and a genie came out. She said, “You have one wish. But you must use it on someone else. You can not wish for more wishes.” What should I wish for? HELP ME!!!!!!!
Dear Diary,
I made a list of things I could wish for. Here it is:
World peace
Mom to heal
Homeless people have a home
Sick people to heal
P.S. The genie’s name is Maya!
Dear Diary,
Should I tell anyone about the coin and genie? Today, Marnie stole my doll. She’s mean. We had quinoa bowls, one of my favorite foods, for dinner. Alice and I went to the park together after school.
Dear Diary,
I’m not going to tell anyone about the coin. They would probably tell someone else, who tells someone else and so on so forth, or they would give suggestions that are not helpful. I don’t need everyone to know about it.
Dear Diary,
I can’t find something to wish for. Alice is coming over today. We are going to have a sleepover. We will make cookies, have a pillow fight, watch a movie, and I don’t know what else. It will be so much fun!
Dear Diary,
I wished for world peace. I listened to the news today. The newspaper says that Italy stopped fighting with Australia and the president of Italy is flying to visit the president of Australia.
Dear Diary,
Today Marnie gave my doll back. I think the wish is working because Claire and I made up, and tomorrow I am going to her house.
P.S. Claire is not my best friend, Alice is.
Dear Diary,
Today in math I met a mathematician. Mrs. Peterson said that I am strong in division, but I need to work on multiplication. In ELA we have to write an essay about the Cold War between USA and some other country. The Cold War is a war of technology and space. In science, we are building a fort to survive a crazy volcano and other stuff.
Dear Diary,
You won’t believe what is happening. Countries stopped going to war, peace is made, fights are resolved. Even the one with Marnie. I think I made the right choice.
Dear Diary,
I’m going on a vacation to the Bahamas. We are going to go scuba diving and we will see turtles and fish. It is going to be awesome! But first I have to finish my poster on some science thing. Mine is how a rainbow forms. It forms when sunlight hits a raindrop in front of you. First, the light reflects off on the inside of the water droplet. Next, when it does this, it separates into its component wave lengths (colors). Last, when light exits, it forms a rainbow. I’m almost done with it! Thanks for listening.
