What I Believe
As a student, I believe in the achievements of high academic work that reflect my effort in the subject. I place the utmost importance on academic integrity and doing my absolute best on assignments and tests. I value my education and bettering myself in the classes I take and improving my worth in class and reflecting that in my assignments.
As a young professional, I believe in helping others and taking part in organizations that make a difference in my school and community. I recognize the importance of community involvement in education and active participation of other students as well as staff members in the success of the organizations as well as individual students.
As a person, I believe in empathizing with people around me and recognizing that every person has their own adversities, backgrounds, and thoughts that should be respected and considered in all decisions. I believe in treating others with integrity and solving problems with logic, fairness, understanding, and compassion.
Above all, I believe in treating others with respect and having the ability to understand others in any situation.
Education
I attended Wayne Central High school near Rochester, NY. I was highly involved in my high school including participation as president of our chapter of National Honor Society, president of the Assets in Action club, and as a Junior and Senior Class Officer. Afterward, I enrolled at Keuka College where I graduated with a major in Child and Family Studies and a minor in Communications. I took pride in many of my leadership roles on campus, including planning events on campus with the Behavioral Sciences Association, serving as a mentor for the Relate LLC program, tutoring students in Statistics for Social Sciences and Human Development, and writing for the school newspaper. Overall, my goal was to make the school and community more collaborative and inclusive.
Future Educational Ventures
I have recently accepted an admissions offer to SUNY Buffalo State for their Master's program in Higher Education and Student Affairs Administration. There, I hope to further my research of first-year transitions into college and pursue a new area of study in intercultural competence and diversity in higher education institutions. I have also accepted a Graduate Assistantship position working in the Admissions Office. I am thankful for the experiences I have had a Keuka College that have prepared me to succeed in future academic pursuits. Particularly, my Field Period experiences and extracurricular activities have led me to a career in this field.
