Below is schoolwork that I take pride in. This page reflects my diligence and pride in the work I complete and the importance of turning in quality work. Each of these assignments taught me more about how to present information in an organized, thoughtful way.
Infographics
Below are two infographics that take scholarly research and put them into a format that would be easy for people to consume. They are meant to provide useful information to a targeted audience in a different format. From these assignments, I learned the importance of being concise and providing visual components to make the information easier to understand.
The purpose of this infographic is to provide parents with useful information about how to help their children transition into college successfully.
This infographic is aimed at informing dual-earner couples about how to reduce stress in their marriage.
Technology and Dating
This assignment was our Problem of Development project for our Adolescent Psychology class in the Spring of 2018. The goal of the assignment was to find a challenge to development in adolescence, to explore that problem, and propose a few solutions.
This group project depicted the issues with technology and dating in adolescence. The video to your left will also reveal the solutions we had to the problem we researched. To view the video on YouTube, click here.
This project was a challenge, but I learned about video editing. I have since learned from this video the importance of being concise so as to not speak too fast for listeners.
Challenges of Dual-Earner Couples: A Comparative Assessment of Frameworks in Scholarly and Media Contexts
In this research assignment, I was tasked with researching studies of dual-earner couples as well as media portrayal of this topic. This was particularly interesting because I found I enjoyed comparing what the academic community had to say about the subject as well as what popular opinion said about it. The unique feature of this assignment also challenged me to focus on the rhetorical themes of academic studies and media articles.
Research Proposal: Dating Behaviors within Technological Contexts
This semester-long project was for my Sociology Methods class in which we learned how to write research proposals. Below is my research proposal about technology in adolescent dating using focus groups. This assignment allowed me to go more in-depth about the process of proposing research and how to best design a study to fit the purpose of the research.
Paid Parental Leave
This paper asserts the value and importance of a Paid Parental Leave program in the United States. This is one of the first research papers I completed at Keuka College. I have since further developed skills of finding sources, synthesizing information, and supporting a stance on a subject.
