For this Field Period, I shadowed Amy Lyons, an art therapist from Rochester, NY. When I actually began my experience, I learned that art therapy is just one part of what she does. Click here to view my website I made to capture this experience!

Below I have my daily journal to view along with some pictures from this experience that you can also view in the website.

Amy Lyons is an art therapist and she also works as the liaison coordinator of Project TEACH.

At Amy's private practice, I made a butterfly with one of her clients. She made me a bracelet and let me keep her slime!

I got to sit in on Amy's undergraduate Art Therapy class that she teaches. Here, students were making self-portraits.

This is a picture of Amy's office at UR Medicine. Here, I would listen to her talk to pediatricians and other healthcare professionals while she filled out intakes.

Below you will see the agreed upon Field Period Contract that addresses my goals and objectives for the experience.

Next, you will find my Summary Paper that describes what I experienced, what I learned, and how I will apply what I learned in my own life.

The Daily Journal below is a day-by-day account of what I observed that day and a reflection of that observation. They include all of the days I went to the U of R, Amy's private practice, or Nazareth College.

Lastly, I kept track of my hours by creating a spreadsheet on Google Sheets. This was more effective for me for keeping track of my hours and helped me plan out how many more I needed to complete the required amount of hours.
