Supervised Agriculture Experience (SAE)

SAE is a project that the student invests 50 hours of outside of class time working on some experience in the agriculture(food fiber, shelter, & Fuel)  area. These projects can be student owned and operated, they can work for someone, they can job shadow and even volunteer, or they can do a science research/experimentation project on an agriculture issue, product or commodity. Projects can be simple as mowing the yard to owning a lawn mowing service, they can raise a livestock animal or a show animal. They can build something or repair and rebuild something. In order to hold student accountable for their SAE projects we hold a Project Competition every year where each Highland student showcases their SAE projects. Re quirments for the project board are here

Livestock Projects

These projects require approval by the species adviser before you can count your animal as your SAE project. In order to show a livestock animal at the Fair a student must go to a series of mandatory meetings and fill out an application. If you have any questions pleas contact your species adviser:
