Introduction to Agricultural Mechanics:. This year long course is designed for freshman as it is the first class in the Mechanized Agriculture Pathway. Students will be provided with basic shop skills necessary to develop an understanding of the following studies; plumbing, wood construction, metal working (welding & fabrication), electrical, ect. In addition to course work, students will be evaluated on their participation in intra-curricular FFA activities as well as the development and maintenance of an ongoing Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program.
A-G Elective, BC dual enrolled for MCAG B2. This course is also a pre-requisite to Ag Mechanics 2.
Agricultural Mechanics 2 Ag Welding: This year long course is the second class in the Mechanized Agriculture Pathway. This course is designed to reinforce and build from the principles taught in the Introduction to Agricultural Mechanics course. Students will further their skills regarding wood construction and metal fabrication. Students will collaborate to design and construct large projects that will be showcased and sold at our annual HHS Plant Sale. In addition to course work, students will be evaluated on their participation in intra-curricular FFA activities as well as the development and maintenance of an ongoing Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program.
A-G Elective. This course is also a pre-requisite to Ag Mechanics 3.
Agricultural Mechanics 3 Fabrication: This year long course is the final class in the Mechanized Agriculture Pathway. The course is designed to familiarize students with basic heavy equipment operation and maintenance. The first semester is devoted to students learning how to safely operate machinery such as a Backhoe, Skid-steer, Tractor and Forklift. After a semester of machinery operations, students will devote their time to building and designing equipment for the HHS School Farm Laboratory. In addition to course work, students will be evaluated on their participation in intra-curricular FFA activities as well as the development and maintenance of an ongoing Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) program.
