SAE Projects

As a member of Highland FFA students have an opportunity to take the knowledge they've learned in the classroom and apply it to some hands on learning through their Supervised Agricultural Experience project. Projects can vary dependent upon the student's interest and goals. Every member is required to complete 50 hours of work with their SAE project each year.

FFA Degrees

Through successful SAE completion student's can earn FFA Degrees. The first degree earned by all first year members is the Greenhand Degree. Once a student reaches their second year and earns $150 with their SAE project they can earn their chapter degree. The third degree is the State FFA degree and requires members to earn and invest $1000 in their projects while working at minimum of 500 hours as well as participate in a minimum of 25 hours of community service. Only 5% of FFA members in the state ever earn their State FFA Degree. The final degree awarded is the American Degree and is by far the most prestigious. Students must earn $10,000, completed 50 hours of community service and been an active member in their FFA chapter. Only 3% of FFA members in the nation ever earn this degree.

Congratulations Harrison McAliffe on earning your American FFA Degree
