This research paper was completed for LIS 60030: People in the Information Ecology. The assignment required students to select and define a particular user group in libraries, museums, or archives and analyze their information needs and behaviors. For my paper, I chose to explore the information needs and behaviors of young adults in museums. To complete the paper, I had to locate a number of research studies about young adults in museums, provide an overview of the theories, models, methods, and techniques used in them, and discuss their implications in addressing this user group’s information needs.
The paper helped me to understand the importance of identifying the information needs and behaviors of different user groups and allowed me to obtain experience in locating, analyzing, and synthesizing relevant research within the field of library and information science.
