American Government will expose students to the study of Government and Politics at the local, state, country and international levels. Students will study the workings of local government institutions, the structure of the New Hampshire and United States governments. This course is designed to develop an understanding of constitutional democracy in the United States. Students will study the purpose, structure, and functions of government, as well as the political process, the role of law, and international affairs. Students will gain an understanding of the rights and responsibilities of citizenship, and the ability to apply their knowledge of local, state, and national government through the political process and citizen involvement as well as various governments around the world.
