Girls Volleyball is currently the fastest growing sport in the United States. The LCPA varsity volleyball team has won all of their games and are 10-0. The teams stay successful by having great team bonding and making relationships to better improve things on the court.
“Playing the Grandview Bulldogs has been the hardest game we have played so far,” said volleyball team's varsity team manager Maliyah Davis, 11th grader at Lincoln College Prep.”The girls put up a great fight playing all 5 sets of the match.”
They walked away with the win. Winning 3-2.
“There are multiple factors to being successful, number one being assistant coaches adding a new perspective to the learning,” said head coach Jasmine Brooks.” Other factors being showing commitment, determination, and teamwork. Also helps them be successful by using the off season as staying fit and ready. ”
The team shows how they are able to be successful and undefeated on the court.
“The best way to prepare for a volleyball game is to have time away from their phones and focus on game tactics and be prepared and focused for the game,” Davis said.
Every team has different goals set. The team's three main goals for the season is to win against Grandview, Vanhorn and districts. So far they have accomplished two thirds of those goals with the last three games in the month of October. With the most challenging game against Notre Dame de Dion.
“I am most excited to see the Sion game,” Davis said. “I expect this game to be very entertaining and challenging.”
“It will be a pink-out game and I love seeing the team and spectators come to sport a cause,” Brooks said.
Senior Night was held on October 5th against Northeast to honor the six seniors on the team: Audrey Verkler, Karter White, Emaline Anderson, Emiya Hill, Macy Littlejohn, and Shanti Alise.
