What is a Special Effect Makeup Artist ?

A special effects makeup artist – or SFX makeup artist – is an individual who uses various techniques, tools and supplies to create several textures and effects. For example, they can create real-looking wounds, bruises and scars using fake blood and prosthetics. They work within several areas of the entertainment industry, including film and television, fashion shows, theatres, theme parks and cruise ships.

• Maintaining prosthetics and wigs
