什麼是拍賣師？

拍賣師是拍賣會上領導和銷售物品的人。拍賣代表一種公開銷售，參與者相互競價購買商品，出價最高者獲勝。拍賣師展示並討論待拍賣的物品，然後透過喊出觀眾的數字來接受競價。拍賣品可以是任何東西，從房地產或農場設備到珠寶或珍奇動物。此次活動介紹的是藝術拍賣官。

What is an auctioneer ?

An auctioneer is someone who leads and sells items at auctions. An auction represents a public sale where participants bid against one other to purchase merchandise, and the highest bidder wins. Auctioneers display and discuss the items up for auction, then take bids from the audience by calling out their numbers. These items can be anything from real estate or farm equipment to jewelry or exotic animals.

• Overseeing cataloguing

• Marketing and networking

What are the necessary skills for auctioneers?

Upending on their role, auctioneers need to be knowledgeable about the items they sell to ensure they can describe and promote them accurately. This role also requires several soft skills, such as:

• Remaining calm under pressure

• Show enthusiasm for the sale

◎ Pre-College Summer Institute 

The Pre-College Program is an academically rigorous residential and day student program in New York City for high schoolers (rising 10th – 12th graders and graduating seniors) who are intellectually curious and passionate about art. Each dynamic and immersive two-week course is taught by leading scholars and art world professionals and takes students behind the scenes of world class museums, galleries, auction houses, artists’ studios, and more. 

◎ Gap Year London

The Gap program designed for students aged 18-21, offered as 6-week and 12-week terms. The program is ideal for students who are passionate about the wider arts and want to embark on a journey of self-discovery and cultural immersion.

◎ Study abroad in London
