What is a Stand-Up Comedian ?

Stand-up comedy is when an entertainer performs a rehearsed comedic skit in front of a live audience. One outlet stand-up comedians use to perform their routine includes open mic venues, which take place at smaller locales, giving comedians the chance to practice some of their new material in front of a smaller audience. 

Job responsibilities

• Researching a variety of topics, including current comedic trends

• Writing and editing material to ensure it flows 

• Choreographing specific movements to go with their jokes

• Creating improvisational content when needed while performing

• Speaking to and entertaining audience members after the show has ended
