Typical scene in the kampong with most houses having attap roofs except the zinc roof of the inevitable mamak provision shop on the right. Youngsters play the sepak raga, a parit drains water out of the village and beside it is the pisang goreng stall. The trishaw is a common mode of transport while a villager has bought a second-hand 1939 Morris 8. In the background is verdant vegetation with coconut palms swaying in the wind.

As Singapore becomes a City-in-Nature, wild boars, Samba deer, civet cat, mousedeer and otters have come out to make their presence felt. There are others too like the oriental hornbill, Sunda pangolin, long-tailed macaque, Malayan colugo, slow loris and others have also come out though less frequently.
