In pursuit of a spiritual identity, the artist explores the spiritual evolution of her Bugis forefathers’ belief system that grapples with the esoteric dimensions of mysticism and the coming of Islam. The artist uses symbols obscured in the ornamental pattern within an illumination that paints a visual narrative of the emergence of a spiritual rebirth.
