Titled from a quote, "Every flower blooms in its own time," by Ken Petti in his "Zenda" book series, this mostly pink abstract painting carries memories, and feelings, of my experience in Japan in the spring/summer of 1996. Despite a hectic schedule of meetings and activities, I managed to visit museums and galleries, eat at the local tea shops, and take walks beneath the beautiful Sakura or Cherry Blossom trees. Reflecting on those fleeting moments, together with the hospitality of the Japanese, their art and culture, that was the time that opened my eyes and kickstarted the path in which I am today.
