Parenting Classes, Resources, and Professional Training

The Parent Line is a free Statewide confidential telephone line. This site provides resources on child behavior, child development, parenting, caregiver support, and community links. They have a phone line staff that will help problem-solve parenting challenges and child and adolescent behavior.

A website for parents, by parents, in collaboration with the State of Hawaii’s Evidence-Based Services Committee. Parents and caregivers can use this site at every stage of addressing a child’s behavioral difficulties.

Caregivers Will Learn About: Nurturing Skills, the use of community resources and services, importance of play in a child’s development, Growth and Development of children (0-10 years).

Who Could Attend? Parents and Caregivers. These groups are not intended for families served by the child welfare services system, but open to those who would like to attend. This program is provided by Child & Family Service.

Goal: to broaden parent-child interactions and to provide comprehensive parenting education and support groups utilizing an evidence-based/evidence-informed, parent-child interactive model statewide for purpose of promoting the five protective factors which have been shown to strengthen families.

Eligibility: Families with children from birth to ten years of age.

Educators and families can now access Second Step Emotion Management lessons for Grades K–5 on-demand, along with support materials for each lesson. All lessons are free (no login required) and feature our own Committee for Children staff, who also happen to be experienced teachers and counselors.
