Dress for Success promotes the economic independence of disadvantaged women by providing professional attire, a network of support and career development tools to help them thrive in work and in life. Women referred into the program are able to take part in the following programs:
Suiting: A personal shopper assists each woman with a complete outfit for her job interview. When available, we also provide accessories such as shoes, jewelry, a hand bag and makeup. Our goal is for her to leave Dress for Success with a complete outfit that will help her feel confident in her interview and land a job. Once she gets a job, we invite her to return to receive additional apparel to mix and match for up to a week's worth of clothing.
RISE!: This job readiness training program for women meets once a week on Tuesday mornings from 8:30 to noon. Classes will address and aid in eliminating the frustrating obstacles that may arise during a search for employment. Four eight week cohorts are held during the year.
Professional Women's Group: Offers successfully employed women a support system where volunteers and staff empower them to retain their jobs, build their careers and continue to thrive. Topics such as improving communication skills, childcare issues, financial planning, and stress management will be covered at monthly meetings.
Personal Pathways: Series of workshops to provide knowledge and confidence for the aspiring professional woman.
