Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement Kahiau Community Assistance Program (KCAP) provides one-time emergency financial assistance (up to $2000) to Native Hawaiian beneficiaries facing hardship due to an unexpected crisis. KCAP is made possible through a grant from the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and aims to provide stability for Native Hawaiians during emergency situations.
The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented challenges and needs for our kamaliʻi & ʻohana. Our immediate concerns are the overall wellbeing of our families across the islands and their ability to meet basic needs
Liliʻuokalani Trust is providing kōkua through one-time emergency stabilization financial assistance for those who qualify. Along with other community resources, we strive to collectively support our kamaliʻi & ʻohana.
Eligible families must have a Hawaiian kamaliʻi (child ages birth to 17 years old) residing in the household of the requestor and they must have legal authority to request this assistance;
There must be a direct financial impact resulting from COVID-19 (e.g., job loss, reduced hours, quarantine). Requestors are asked to provide documentation, if possible.
The requestor and kamaliʻi are not currently enrolled in Liliʻuokalani Trust services (e.g., case management, youth development programs).

The purpose of the Hawaiʻi Resilience Fund (HRF) is to provide one-time emergency financial assistance (up to $1000 per household) to Hawaiʻi residents facing hardship due to the COVID-19 pandemic. HRF is made possible through a partnership between the Council for Native Hawaiian Advancement, Hawaiʻi Community Foundation, and Pierre & Pam Omidyar. The program aims to provide stability to families during this emergency situation.
The Hawaiʻi Resilience Fund currently funds:

-rent payment
-utility services
-certified childcare services

Provides security deposit and/or first month's rent to families with minor children. Also provides case management services in relation to housing stability.

Aloha United Way's Hawaii COVID-19 Rent & Utility Assistance Program was created to swiftly provide assistance to those at risk of losing their home or utility services. A maximum of $1000 will be paid per household per month for both rent and utilities. Each household may apply up to once a month.

ELIGIBILITY:To be eligible for Aloha United Way COVID-19 Rent & Utilities Assistance program you must:
1. Reside within the County of the Provider Agency submitting the application.
2. Have a current lease agreement that is non-familial.
3. Pre-COVID-19 (before March 15, 2020) household income at or below 80% of AMI (Area Median Income)
4. Present documentation showing the loss of employment or significant reduction in hours due to the pandemic
5. Present Documentation of unemployment or partial unemployment filing
6. Have less than $1,000 in liquid assets (cash, checking and savings accounts, stocks, mutual funds, money market funds, bonds, etc.)
7. For clients applying for utility assistance, you will need to contact your Utility Service Provider directly to acquire the outstanding balance

Provides short-term rental subsidy assistance for up to 24 months to people experiencing homelessness who are willing to increase income primarily through employment. Participants follow an individualized employment and training plan toward maintaining employment; increasing savings; sustaining a fair market rental unit; and transitioning to affordable housing. The program is funded under the HOME Investments Partnerships Program.

ELIGIBILITY: Applicants must meet the minimum requirements of having verification that each household member meets the federal definition of homelessness and have an annual income that does not exceed 60% of the area median income, adjusted for household size, as determined by the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
Eligible applicants must be willing to contribute 30% of household's gross income toward rent and utilities. At least one adult family member must be employed 20+ hours per week for a minimun of 3 months. Completion of Money Smart Certification.

Helping Hands Hawaii's EAP program provides financial assistance service for individuals and families who are currently homeless, or who are at imminent risk of homelessness due to eviction or utility disconnection. The program may be able to provide limited rental (first month's rent or past due rent) and utility assistance (past due bills for electric, water & gas). Individuals and families must be able to provide verification of homelessness, or that they are at imminent risk of homelessness. Must attend a financial literacy workshop.
