To address the need that many essential workers have for childcare during the coronavirus crisis, Kama’aina Kids 21 Preschool locations across Oahu and Maui not only continue to offer child care for infants through preschool, but also add support services to school aged children to families in essential service roles. If you work in essential services, and your regular childcare options are unavailable to you, you are eligible to enroll your child on a space available basis in the Kama’aina Kids location and program that is most convenient for you.
Kama`aina Kids remains committed to providing a safe and enriching environment for Hawai`i’s keiki. To assist working families through these unprecedented times, we are offering Distance Learning Support Centers at select locations around the state, for children currently enrolled in grades K-5. We continue to abide by social distancing measures and other guidelines set forth by the CDC and Hawaii Department of Health. In addition to providing staff to supervise students during Distance Learning, this program offers on-site activities, which will include a variety of engaging experiences intended to promote SEL (Social Emotional Learning).
This program is designed to help qualified parents with monthly financial aid for child care costs for keiki ages birth to age 12. Child care includes relative care in the child’s home environment, infant / toddler care, group child care, pre-school, and before and after school care.
The HELP Program is focused on serving Native Hawaiian, Native American Indian, and Alaska Native families who are working or attending school or in job training.
The Pre-Application is an eligibility screen and is the FIRST STEP in our enrollment process.
Upon completion of the Pre-Application, if you meet eligibility requirements, we will email you the full application.
