Mesic to wet forest, diverse mesic forest, and mesic valleys.
Cuttings 4-6 in; seeds sown in fine, moist, well-compacted potting medium-bishop museum.
Mamaki is used for medicinal purposes, bark for cloth, kapa cloth from inner bark, and cloth dye. Seeds have aiding properties; fruits are edible and used for beneficial remedies.
