Kaʻalehuli

Kaueleau, Puna

It's a nice place. It's a beautiful place as well but youmay see some weird encounters but other than that the environment is nice a lot of things u can learn about this place Ka’alehuli there’s a nice spot where u can go and swim but there are boundaries in this place this beach. We saw nudity, people cutting down a protected kamani tree and trespassing onto graves areas.

There are black rocks with areas of black sand and tide pools.  There were hala, kamani, naupaka, niu, lauaʻe.  There were a lot of baby fish in the tide pools, such as menpachi.  It was also windy.  We found limu akiaki, and limu kala, and limu pepeiao.  We found loli and opihi, wana (with long spikes and turquoise color), kaonaoa (spaghetti worm) and tube coral.  In the ponds, we saw large puhi (eel) and a type of .  They live in the crevices in the rocks.  There are also caves in this area.  We saw iwa and ʻio hovering and gliding in the sky above the beach.

There are loina for this place. To the right of the beach there is a pali, and on the other side there are many graves.  We do not cross that boundary out of respect for the ʻohana buried there. Never, for any reason, enter any type of caves.  These are kapu, or forbidden.

This is a conservation zone. All trees, rocks, and sand are protected.  Do not gather or damage anything from this ʻāina.
