History
Course details: Board and Specification: AQA 7042
The Judd History Department offer the following options at A-Level history:
Unit 1 – Breadth Study
Tsarist to Communist Russia, 1855-1964
Unit 2 – Depth Study
The English Revolution, 1625-1660
We have provided some suggestions for work you may like to do in preparation for each of these units. It’s a good idea to read / watch / do as much of it as you can.
Additionally, if you are thinking about studying History at university, it is a good idea to start developing a specialism in a topic you find really interesting. This will help with your personal statement. It can be any aspect of any period in history, but you should be looking to develop a genuine passion for this and be willing to continue to read on the same topic over time. Previous students have enjoyed reading and learning about Ancient History, the role of women perpetrators in the Holocaust, nationalist movements, civil rights, and archaeology, just to mention a few.
