This course stresses leadership, citizenship, sea power, history, health science, oceanography, and maritime customs and skills. Extra-curricular activities include marksmanship programs, exhibition marching drill teams, ceremonial color guard, and other sports and social activities. Most expenses associated with activities and field trips are taken care of by the Navy, the school, or ROTC fund-raising activities.

Child Development is a technical laboratory course that addresses knowledge and skills related to child growth and development from prenatal through school-age children, equipping students with child development skills. Students use these skills to promote the well-being and healthy development of children and investigate careers related to the care and education of children.

This course involves instruction in astronomy, advanced leadership, maritime history, and other maritime subjects. Students in this course are charged with the leadership and administration of the Cadet Company and extracurricular programs.

COLLEGE COURSE NAME: LDRS 2301
This course examines leadership theories and models of those theories in varying contexts and perspectives. This examination allows students to develop a broad understanding of leadership and its complexities. Traditional and emerging theories of leadership are addressed within the underlying framework of how they apply to individuals, groups, organizations, and society. Additionally, students will begin exploring and articulating their own thinking on leadership and how it relates to their emerging leadership philosophy.
COURSE NOTES: Students can receive dual credit through Tarleton State University.
Students must be enrolled in four high school credit courses and the dual credit course.
Students are responsible for the college tuition and fees each semester and may be required to purchase additional materials for the course.
