UVU Excelerate - A First-Year Project-Based College Kick-Off Experience
What’s Included?
The Excelerate program offers eligible graduating high school seniors an amazing college kick-off experience!
Free tuition for one of our General Education courses offered this summer
Hands-on projects that build your resume and connect you with real community and industry partners
Small class sizes, skill-building workshops, academic resource support, and embedded peer mentors
Who Qualifies?
First-generation high school graduates who plan to attend college in the fall. (You are considered first-generation if neither of your parents has graduated with a four-year degree in the U.S.)
High school graduates who are undecided on their major, undeclared, or enrolled as University Studies majors.
Students can choose from 15 different courses offered across UVU’s first and second summer blocks. Each course includes hands-on, community-based projects, career guidance, and access to mentorship and campus resources.
The application window is now open. Classes will fill fast!

Empowered Professionals of Tomorrow - A High School Early Access Summer Bridge Program
What’s Included?
The Empowered Program allows 9th–11th grade high school students to gain early access and supported success for college!
Two tuition-free credited UVU courses offered in one of our four program tracks over the summer
Career-focused exploration tracks that combine academic learning with mentorship, skill development, and career exploration activities
Mentorship, skill-building workshops, career exploration, and academic resource supports that build confidence and early college and career success.

Planning on attending SLCC?
Check out Summer Bridge to see if it fits for you!
SLCC’s Summer Bridge is an 8-week program that runs from June 16th to August 7th.
As part of the program, SLCC offers two free classes (an English course and a math class that acts like a student success course--it helps refresh student's math skills and teaches them essential college skills), free lunches, tons of fun social activities (Boondocks, Game Nights, Video Game tournaments, etc.), and possible monetary assistance in the form of tuition waivers & stipends or laptops. This program is a good head start for students!

Take a look at their new merit scholarships and Utah Promise Scholarship to see if you qualify!
Merit scholarships are based on the student's unweighted high school GPA using the list below. These scholarships are renewable for up to four (4) years, provided the student meets the terms and conditions.
President John R. Park Scholarship: 4.00 GPA $10,000
Provost's Scholarship: 3.90 GPA $8,000
Bonneville Scholarship: 3.80 GPA $6,000
Red Rock Scholarship: 3.70 GPA $4,000
Great Salt Lake Scholarship: 3.50 GPA $3,000

Utah Promise Scholarship
What is the Utah Promise Scholarship? The Utah Promise ensures full coverage of tuition and mandatory fees with scholarship and grant funding for Utah resident undergraduate students whose family household income and assets are each less than $100,000 per year.
Qualified applicants must meet the following criteria:
Be a Utah resident
Be a first-time, first-year student
Have an unweighted high school GPA of 3.5 or above
Have an annual family income and assets each totaling less than $100,000 as determined by the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Must complete their university admissions application by the December 1 priority deadline
Must complete and submit the FAFSA by the February 1 priority deadline (University of Utah School Code is 003675)
