ATTENDANCE AND PUNCTUALITY
I would like to remind you of the importance of good attendance and punctuality and the effect you can have on your child(ren)’s attendance. There is a proven link to the positive impact of excellent attendance on attainment and progress. Parents and carers can play a key role in their child’s education by simply being positive and encouraging your child to attend school every day, even if they are feeling slightly under the weather.
Students should aim to be in school every day and strive to achieve 100% attendance each week. We are expecting all students to be in every day and on time. All students should be on site no later than 8:35am in preparation for their first lesson of the day beginning at 8:40am.
UNIFORM
Please be aware that:
● all students are required to remove their coats (which should be of a conventional design) during lesson time
● navy blue blazers with the school crest attached on the breast pocket should always be worn and cannot be replaced by a coat. Hoodies are not permitted to be worn in school at any time
● plain saxe-blue shirts must be tucked in and Bedford check kilts (skirts) must not be rolled
● trousers must be plain black or dark grey straight-legged uniform trousers. Denim-type fabric, leggings, skinnies or jeans are not permitted
● nail varnish, false nails and false eyelashes are not permitted to be worn in school
● any earrings must be plain gold or silver studs and only one set should be worn
● black formal shoes should be worn with black, navy or grey ankle socks or opaque black tights (when wearing the school kilt (skirt)). Trainers, or any shoes resembling trainers, are not acceptable
Students who do not adhere to these rules will be sanctioned in keeping with the school’s Code of Conduct. We would be grateful if you could remind your child(ren) of the expectations for uniform and support them in ensuring that they meet these expectations.
