The Magical Christmas Adventure of the Bear and the Bee
By Lydia – Year 9
It was a long cold night. The Bear set off in the snow, all alone for Christmas again. In the cabin n the woods, he lit is lonely candle. The Bear looked empty again. “What have I done to be like this” said the Bear.
Bright and early the Bear set off walking in the snowy fields, a family and a dog were in the distance. They screamed and shouted and the bear ran away. The friendly bear just wants a friend. Walking in the dark through the Christmas village watching everybody living their happy ever after. A tear started rolling down the bear’s face.
Suddenly, a bright yellow light was flying in the distance. “What was that” the bear said. It was a Bee. The Bee was slowly losing energy. “Help me” said the bee. The bear held the bee and ran back to his cabin. “Not long to go” said the bear. The bee’s eyes were slowly going. “No, no, please keep your eyes open, not long left” shouted the bear.
They got back to the cabin and the bear put the fire on. “One moment bee let me get you some honey”, said the bear. “Here is the honey” said the bear. There was no reply, just silence. “Bee please stay with me”. Still no reply.
The bear had no hope, under the star he wished “Please, I don’t want anyone else in my life, I just want my new friend bee”.
It was Christmas Eve and the bee was still not up. “What have I done” said the bear. Another long Christmas again. This was my last chance explained the bear. The fire was lit and the hot chocolate was on the side. “Merry Christmas” said the bear, and then the bear was now asleep.
BANG! BANG! “What was that” said the bear. HO, HO, HO, Santa” said the bear. Santa said “Bear you have been a good boy and I would like to you make any wish come true”. And ….. Bear said “please let bee live”. The magic of Santa came true bee was fine and healthy too. “Thank you” said the bear, and off they went having the time of their life ……..
Friends forever they said, and a Merry Christmas!
Oliver’s Adventure with The Bee and the Bear.
By Toby – Year 9
T’was a frosty morning, sleet covered the ground and fog filled the horizon. It was Christmas Even, eve (the 23rd). One young boy was very excited, his name was Oliver, he loved Christmas so much, his favourite day of the year. He was at the age, where he didn’t know if Santa is real or not, he wanted an answer. Oliver thought of a plan, he’d go on an adventure, a hunt for Santa.
He left his house bright and early to finally see Santa Clause. He did not know where to find him or where the North pole is, but he was ambitious. Oliver walked and walked until he finally didn’t know where he was. Towering trees filled the area, he was in the woods, Buzzzz, Buzzzz. Oliver darted his eyes behind him, there was an absolutely gigantic bee behind him, the biggest he had ever seen. Oliver sprinted away but it followed, the boy got out of breath and quickly paused. The bee gently glided down and onto Oliver’s nose, it seemed friendly. He continued with the bee following on behind. Another hour passed, still in the woods. There was a sudden rustling noise in a bush to the right. Oliver went to explore it, the rustling got louder and louder. Out came a furry brown leg. Oliver was a gentle as possible because what he saw in front of him was a fierce brown bear. He slowly backed away, however, the bear gave him the friendliest hug. He was just like the bee.
The adventure to find Santa continued as they now approached a snowy biome, this place felt magical, felt like Christmas, it felt like the place Oliver was searching for. They strolled and strolled with the bee and bear leading the way. Did they know where Santa was?
After walking for hours an animal sped past them, but in the air, they looked up to see a soaring sleight and reindeer, it swerved back and descended right next to them. A very frail looking man walked out of the sleigh. He was wearing a crimson red suit and a silky red had, black boots and gloves. He had a huge beard covering his mouth and chin, but he didn’t feel like Santa. He spoke to Oliver.
“I’m Santa, but not who you were expecting, my magic is fading. I’m getting old, you found me”.
Santa gave Oliver his hat, and disappeared, was Oliver now the new Santa?
A Magical Christmas Past
By Alex – Year 8
It was the night of the 30th November and two friends; a bear and a bee are excited for the new month. Well, the bee was a least. Everyday from the start of the year, the bee would speak about Christmas. The bear wasn’t excited but he never expressed his true feelings.
“Bear, why do you never feel the spirit of joy?”
“It’s pointless. Why do you find it exciting every year? I don’t get the point” the bear responded bluntly.
The days went by at a rapid pace for now it was 18th December 1665.
“One week till Christmas, Bear! Are you excited?” bee asked.
“I think I preferred it when Cromwell was in charge. Also, I know it’s a week now! If Cromwell was immortal, I’d love life more than ever!” Bee questioned bear’s words but it never made him annoyed. The two knew Christmas was soon and it was ready for them.
Christmas was now around and bee was in for a surprise. In the early hours of the 25th December 1665, bee came down and had the biggest shock of his life. Bear told him to go outside. He saw the best thing ever! Something so spectacular, he nearly fainted.
Bear planned a surprise for bee and never wanted to express his true feelings. This was an amazing moment for bee as the whole time he thought bear hated Christmas.
“What are fiends for? You’re welcome bee!”
The two friends were so happy and lively happily together since then. Bear and bee truly were friends and since then never did bear make false sayings and he stayed excited for Christmas every year and ever more delighted he could spend it with his friend bee!
The Magical Christmas Adventure of the Bear and the Bee
By Olivia – Year 8
Once upon a time there was a selfish, ungrateful old bear, his name was Paul. Paul was sitting at the beach alone, he was thinking about honey. It was peaceful and night time, no birds were singing, no lights were on in the city, silence. Paul was extra grumpy today because it was Christmas Eve tomorrow, everyone is so cheerful and he hated that.
“What’s the point in being so happy about one day, it’s no different than any other” he thought.
As Paul was thinking he hears a low buzz the sort of buzz a toothbrush would make. He turned around and was greeted by a bright yellow and black bee, it was so beautiful, flying around under the moonlight. This bee gave the bear warmth, that a smile appeared on Paul’s face.
“Hello, I’m Sam, what’s your name?” asks the bee softly.
Now, Paul was a very grumpy guy, but in this moment, it didn’t seem lie it. A warm smile spread wider across his face.
“I’m Paul, nice to meet you Sam,”
“Would you like to help Santa wrap some presents?” ask the bee.
Paul contemplated saying no, but, there pure happiness this bee projected changed his answer completely.
“It would be an honour”, replies Paul.
Sam had offered Paul a ride in one of Santa’s spare sleighs. Paul gladly accepted with no doubts. When they arrive at Santa’s workshop and stepped inside, Paul’s eyes widen and jaw drops in awe. Many tiny little elves were swiftly wrapping varieties of toys, wrapping paper hung down the walls and green and red lights strung over the ceiling. Wow!
“This is Santa’s workshop! Said Sam. Glee filled his voice. Even Sam, though he’s been here many times, looks at the magnificent workshop in awe.
“This is fantastic”, Pauls says back, smiling.
Paul wonders around the workshop, he even helps one of the elves wrap up a toy car. Once he’s finished with that he spots a large wide door on one of the walls of the workshop. Curiously, he sneaks inside and is greeted by a big, fat, old man who is dressed in a red outfit with white fur cuffs on the ends of his sleeves and the ends of his trousers, he is also wearing a warm fussy red and white hat. This man has a long white beard and many wrinkles.
“Ho, Ho, Ho! What’s this old lad doing in here then?” says the man.
Paul looks petrified and is scared that this strange man is going to accuse him of breaking and entering.
“I-I’m” shutters Paul.
“Now, now buddy, don’t be worried, I’m Santa Clause!” Santa speaks in a low, crackly, warm voice. As he says this, Paul feels a kind aura radiating of this man and his scared feeling vanishes.
Santa Clause offers Paul some coffee and a chat about what he wants for Christmas, while this chat is going on Sam bursts in the door.
Santa, Paul! You have to see this”.
Santa and Paul jump out of their seat and make their way to the main workshop to see any enormous pile of presents. When I say enormous, I meant it. Thousands of perfectly wrapped presents are piled up into a massive pyramid. I whisper to Sam, “What’s happening with all of these?”
“Tomorrow night, me, Santa and a few elves are travelling all around the world delivering present to all the good children, would you like to joi?” replies Sam.
“Of course!’ says Paul.
The next night Paul, Sam and Santa set off and deliver all the presents, and they all lie happily every after.
The Christmas Magical Adventures of the Bear and the Bee
By Pheobe – Year 7
Once upon a time in a far away land there was a bear called Ben. Ben was hibernating because it was winter, but he woke up! Ben looked all around. The beautiful trees were covered in snow, you couldn’t see a spot of fresh green grass on the ground. Out of nowhere, Ben heard a funny noise in the distance.
“Ahhh!”
It was a bee and it was holding some abnormally large presents.
“What are you doing here?” cried the bear.
“I’m delivering presents for the children for Christmas”, said the been named Bonnie.
“What!?”
“You don’t look like an elf!” said Ben.
“See, that’s the thing, Santa doesn’t have many elves this year so I offered to help him. It was a huge mistake~! I can’t do this by myself!” said Bonnie.
Ben felt he had to help Bonnie. Suddenly, tears trickled from Bonnie’s eyes. Ben had to help now.
“It’s okay, don’t cry, I’ll help you”, suggested Ben.
“Really, you would do that for me, thank you so, so much”, said Bonnie, flying up and down and dancing merrily.
So, they made their way to deliver the presents brining lots of Christmas cheer.
The Christmas Magical Adventures of the Bear and the Bee
By Abel – Year 7
Once upon a time there was a bear called Bobby and his dream was to become one of Santa’s reindeers. He practiced every day, he was getting pretty good, but there was a problem he couldn’t fly. He tried so many different ways, he made some wings out of cardboard, he tried to flap his paws, but, it didn’t work. He was going to give up hope but it all changed when he met Buzz.
Buzz was a lonely bee and all he wanted was some friends. At first Bobby didn’t like Buzz but then they started going out to places and playing with each other, they became really good friends and they always played together.
On Christmas Eve Buzz noticed Bobby was really sad.
Buzz asked Bobby “Bobby why are you sad, it’s Christmas tomorrow”.
“I know but it’s my dream to become one of Santa’s reindeers” Bobby replied glumly.
“I can help with that”, said Buzz.
Buzz flew around the room gathering many different supplies. Then he came back to Bobby and asked him to hold still, Buzz quickly and carefully stuck tape and placed wood on Bobby until he said he was done. Bobby curious about what Buzz did went over to the mirror.
“Wow, you gave me antlers, I really look like a reindeer!” shouted Bobby excitedly.
“Thank you for helping me”, said Bobby.
“But, I still can’t fly”, said Bobby sadly.
Buzz knew what he had to do, he told Bobby to get on his back. After a clot of convincing Bobby hesitantly got on, it was a bit uncomfortable but Bobby was slowly rising up. Bobby looked at the clock, they only had half an hour. Buzz flew as fast as he could to try and make it to the North Pole. They had to dodge icebergs and go under planes but, they made it just in time. They went to Santa’s Grotto and begged him if he could fly with his sleigh. Santa said, yes, and Bobby’s dream came true.

(The Bear and the Bee)
Louie and Pip by Adam Genga
Once upon a time there was a cute Christmas bear called Louie he worked for Santa making toys. One day Santa was short on elves to pack the sleigh up, so he asked Louie to help him. Louie accepted and helped Santa pack the presents but there was a problem; today was the biggest blizzard Santa had ever seen. Nobody could see a thing and Santa couldn’t get his presents to the sleigh, meaning Christmas could be cancelled. Louie couldn’t let Christmas be cancelled so he tried to get every present to the sleigh. Unfortunately, though he got lost in the blizzard.
Louie panicked and was scared he had been carrying the presents for hours and hadn’t found the sleigh .....
Louie heard ringing bells. Thinking it was Santa he ran towards the sound and was suddenly confused. He was in BuzzVille but before he had time to think about it he was knocked off his feet by a baby bee. “WHAT ARE YOU DOING KNOCKING ME OFF MY FEET? LIKE THAT, WHO ARE YOU?!” said Louie angrily. “I’m Pip, why are you so angry?” “I’m just angry because I got lost with all of Santa’s presents. What is this place? The land of bees?” said Louie. “Yes, but back to the point, the blizzard is over now so why don’t you go back” said Pip. “I’ve never wandered this far before. I’m not quite sure how to get back. Will you show me the way?” “Don’t worry, mate, I will take ya!”
So, Louie and Pip set off for a magical adventure that would take them to fun and dangerous places. All of this to get the presents back to Santa!
All was going well and Pip was showing Louie how to get back to Santa, until they faced a shallow river with no bridge. Louie said to Pip “How are going to cross now, Pip? There is no bridge and I don’t like water” “Let’s use those rocks over there as stepping stones,” said Pip. “Great idea!” said Louie.
Pip and Louie picked up the rocks and placed them as stepping stones. Amazingly, their plan worked. Pip and Louie were very proud of themselves. But this wasn’t going to be their only problem.
After walking for a while, they saw a big walrus in their path and Pip said, “Oi, move” “Pip don’t you think you’re a little small to be getting angry at Walrus?” said Louie. Pip and Louie walked up to the Walrus and asked him to move nicely and this time he grunted and fell back to sleep. They wandered for hours; Louie suddenly remembered some food that they had passed.” We can use this food to tempt him”, said Louie.
It worked and they passed the Walrus and saw the sign for Santa’s grotto. “Ho,Ho,Ho! Where have you been?” asked Santa. “It’s a long story but here are the presents for the children”, said Louie. Louie and Pip knew they would be friends forever now.

Poems inspired by the books
Inspired by the book ‘Cookie’ by Jacqueline Wilson
Being bullied is nothing but pain.
It causes depression, messes with your brain.
You can’t remember a time where you haven’t felt alone,
Even when you-re with family in the safety of your home.
You feel ugly, you feel inferior,
The people picking on you will act superior.
You Can’t stand up for yourself due to the fact,
That if you even try you’ll probably get smacked.
You’ll have no friends, nobody to turn to,
When things feel so low that it’s a genuine issue.
Nothing makes you happy anymore so you don’t get out of bed,
Weighed down by the burdens inside your head.
‘Light at the end of the tunnel’? you’ll think not,
The thought would make you laugh but you’d have probably forgot.
Things do bet better, I can confirm,
Certainly, when you speak out about if you’ll lean.
Being bullied is nothing but pain,
It causes depression, messes with your brain.
Yet, it all ends up alright, you’ll be just fine,
Don’t lest other dim your shine.
By Charlotte – Year 9
Inspired by the book ‘the Perks of being a Wallflower’ by Stephen Chobosky
A freak, a weirdo,
That’s what they call me.
An outsider, a shadow
I don’t know how to break free.
Letters and letters, I write,
To my one and only friend.
Do the understand me?
Will they be with me till the end.
I know them,
They don’t know me,
That’s the way it works,
That’s the way it has to be.
I’m not popular,
I’m not cool,
I’m strange,
I’m a fool.
I follow the crowd,
I try to stick in,
They chuck me out,
Although I have no sins.
I’m a good person,
They just don’t see,
There’s more to life,
Than popularity.
