Need advice? We've got the answers!
Here is a little advice from Dr. Patriot. If you want to get to know more people at school, get involved! Start conversations and meet new people. You can join clubs that will guarantee you make friends with someone else involved. Try talking to new students, and be confident in yourself! I was the new kid once. After meeting new people and joining sports and clubs, I now know almost everyone! Remember to concentrate not just on your social life, but also on your academic life. Stay on top of your homework and assignments. If you have any questions, don't be afraid to ask someone for help! If you're a student-athlete, you must manage your time wisely between work on the field and work in the classroom. Following this advice will guarantee a great school year for you! Stay tuned for more advice from Dr. Patriot in the next edition!

Enjoy your time playing but remember you are students first then athletes.
What advice would you give to the seniors?
The goal is to graduate. This is not the time nor the place to take a stand against “school rules.” Once you graduate, you can grow out your hair, or show your tats, or wear a nose ring. Keep your “eyes on the prize”. Do the right thing and earn that diploma.
Mrs. Johnson
What is some advice you would give to new students?
I would encourage them to try new things. Students at Curtis have lots of options. There are sports, clubs, and activities for every type of student. Activities are a great way to make friends and great high school memories.
What advice would you give for student athletes?
Strive to be a student athlete. Be a great athlete and a great student. I know that it can be hard to balance it all, but don’t stop trying.
What advice would you give to the seniors?
Prepare for life after high school. Remember to start early applying to colleges. Spend time every week looking for scholarships. You will be surprised where you can find money for college.
Coach Brandon Godfrey
What is some advice you would give to new students?
The advice I would give to new students is to find a way to get involved. Coach JT always talks about not being an "8-3" student and I think that the only way you can meet new people and adjust to a new place is to join a club or sport and you will find people that have the same interests as you.
What advice would you give for student athletes?
The advice I give to the student athletes is to take care of themselves and play like your next play is your last. There is nothing guaranteed, so make the most out of the opportunity presented in front of you.
What advice would you give to the seniors?
The advice that I give to seniors is to make sure they enjoy their final year by being involved with all extracurricular activities. I also encourage them to stay in state for college so TOPS can pay for most of their tuition.
