The John Curtis Colonial Regiment is directed by Thomas Dean. Our school band is a way for JCCS students to show their school spirit, creativity, and skill. These students not only learn to play their instrument with precision, but also develop a sense of teamwork and discipline. The colonial regiment performs at events such as football games, pep rallies, chapel, some assemblies, and the occasional basketball game. Band members spend countless hours rehearsing and perfecting their performances. JCCS loves, appreciates, and is so proud of our Colonial Regiment members.

The JCCS Color Guard is directed by Kellie Hughes and Toni Curtis. The color guard is a performance group that adds flair and style to performances. These students incorporate the use of dancing and flags to create the perfect routine. Being a part of the color guard team can teach students discipline, coordination, and teamwork. Working hard at practice has helped these girls improve and learn new skills to be able to perform in front of a crowd.

The film team is a vital part of the football program. Rain or shine, they not only film every repetition in practice but also every play during a game. During the week, the football team watches every play in order to critique and make improvements for the upcoming game. On gameday, they become a small IT team by setting up our Skycoach Network and 8 ipads, while operating 3 cameras that record 3 different angles for each and every play. Those angles are reviewed immediately by the coaching staff in order to make fast adjustments to put the team in the best position for success. Although Coach Englander is the director of the team, the team is mostly student led in arranging weekly schedules, and putting the best people in stations for gameday. Coach Englander says, “This group takes a lot off my plate during practice and games because they are dependable, excellent problem solvers, and committed to the team’s success.”
