WEEK EIGHT
Curtis vs Jesuit
John Curtis played the Jesuit Blue Jays on October 25, 2024, at 7:00 pm. John Curtis had yet another home-field advantage as they played their last home game of the season. Although the game ended in an unfortunate loss, the team put in good offensive effort throughout the game, and many players had solid performances. Most notably, in the second quarter, junior Jacobi Boudreaux rushed for 62 yards and scored a touchdown for the team, the kick from senior Lucas Kippers was good. The team's three-game win streak was unfortunately broken, but the team is ready to get back to work and improve for the final weeks of the season. The final score was 17-10.
Jason Curtis - #32
Position: Safety
Grade: 12th
How do you keep yourself motivated? I just think this is my last time doing things. I try to think back on previous things that have happened that are negative that forced me to keep pushing, such as past games and stuff like that.
Game day routines? Lucky habits?
Pre-game meal, I eat at 2:50, then I sit in the training room till 4:15, then I take a nap until we leave. I have my own warmup on the field I do when we first get there, and then I have to have Burger to stretch me before I warm up. I listen to specific songs too. I’m a routine guy, it’s not a luck thing.
What can you improve on from Friday? As a team we need to focus on our own assignments and not try to do too much, and have more trust in each other.
What’s the goofiest thing you’ve ever done to make an opponent/ref mad? Last year TaRon Francis the 5-star receiver for Karr i kept calling him tyrone to make him mad.
Caden Betard - #46

Game day routines? Lucky habits? I wear the same thing to school every friday, I always drink pedialyte, and I listen to the same playlist for pregame
What can you improve on from Friday? As a team maybe like motivating people better, not bringing them down, and don’t single out one player, it’s all of us.
What’s the goofiest thing you’ve ever done to make an opponent/ref mad? I punched Rabun Gaps tight end in the stomach 8 times and he got very mad.
Coach Jeff Curtis
What do you coach? Running backs and quarterbacks
How do you keep your team motivated? I think focusing on the process of what it takes to be a good player and person, and most importantly it allows them to not focus on the product. At the end of the day we want to be the best player and team we can be and sometimes the loss comes along with that and that's just a part of the process.
Who stepped up and led at the game against Jesuit? Jacobi Boudreaux probably had the best game offensively, but he was only able to do those things because of how the offensive line blocked for him.
What characteristics make a good football player? Being tough both mentally and physically, being consistent, consistently showing up ready to practice and ready to play, not getting tired of showing up every day and doing the same thing over and over again, dedication.
What are the football coaching goals you strive to accomplish? Helping them to realize, each player, the best version of themselves both athletically and individually as a person.
