1. What is your favorite part about your sport?
My favorite thing about my sport is that even though I am competing against other athletes, I am competing against myself and trying to do better than my last performance everytime I go out there.
2. Do you have any superstitions on meet day, and if so what are they?
Yes, I have one superstition! I try to wear the same lululemon socks everytime I compete (washed of course).
3. What are the steps you do on meet day, like step by step?
Starting the night before I compete, I pray and write down in my journal all of the things that I need to focus on in order to perform the way I want to. The day of competition, I make sure to eat right and stretch well throughout the day. Once I get to the track, I focus on warming up well and all of those things that I wrote down in my journal the night before!
4. What is your mentality going into a meet?
My mentality mainly consists of trusting my training and the work that I have put in. I tell myself that there is no reason to be nervous or scared because I have done it over and over again. I am confident in myself and my coaches. I believe if I try my best then the training that my coaches have put me through will help me succeed.
5. Do you eat anything different, day of a meet?
I don't necessarily eat anything different on meet day, but I make sure that I am not eating anything heavy or greasy. The night before I make sure to eat a big meal but on meet day I try to eat light.

I only have one family member that attended Curtis in the past. My uncle, Jacob Dufrene, played multiple sports at JCCS but excelled in football. He played Linebacker and later got the opportunity to play D1 football at the University of Kentucky.

The night before my game I have to put in my gameday earrings. When I wake up I get ready for school and go to school like it is a regular day. When PE comes around I get ready for my game and I start getting my mind right. I try to keep my appetite smaller than usual on game days.

My goal for this season is to win the State-championship. My 7th grade year we fell short, losing in the semi-final game and last year we fell short in the State-championship, losing 2-1 against Chapelle. That feeling was the worst thing I've ever felt so I told myself it will not happen again.
