The junior Honors Anatomy and Physiology class took a field trip to Ochsner to learn about the respiratory system. Students explored how our lungs work and why breathing is important for our health. They got to see real-life medical equipment and learn from respiratory therapists and other professionals who showed them how doctors diagnose, treat, and create a plan for people with breathing problems. The field trip helped the students understand how their bodies work and why taking care of our lungs is important, short term and long term. The students enjoyed the hands-on learning experience and claimed it made learning more exciting.
