What we're learning & doing in class: This week we will be continuing in our new unit of "Jesus' Ministry Expands." We will learn about stories of Jesus in the Gospels and journal about them.

Reading/Writing: This week, we will begin reading Bud, Not Buddy, another historical fiction book by Christopher Paul Curtis. This book takes place during the Great Depression, and I look forward to learning more about this time period and the characters in the story with students.

Band: The Celebration of the Arts concert is on March 19, and the 5th/6th grade bands will be performing at 7:15pm. Call time for 5th grade is 7:00 in the band room. Performance attire for the evening is theme shirts with jeans or nice pants.
Full Band on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday this week! No instruments on Friday (post concert celebration!)
Homework: Third round of practice records of the third trimester due Monday, March 23 (Students will be able to record a free 30 minutes of practice on Thursday due to the concert that evening! Students still need to record it in their practice record and get it signed by a parent for it to be put into the grade book.)
