With this rapid change comes the need to know about digital citizenship – the roles, responsibilities, and skills for navigating digital life.

Being a good digital citizen means being a responsible one: educating yourself and your student about the digital world, participating in it in positive ways, questioning it and using technology as a tool to make the world a bit brighter (and not in some post-apocalyptic-neon-shroom-cloud way).

Digital Citizenship is a concept which helps teachers, technology leaders and caregivers to understand what students/technology users should know to use technology appropriately. Digital Citizenship is more than just a teaching tool; it is a way to prepare students/technology users for a society full of technology. Digital citizenship is the continuously developing norms of appropriate, responsible, and empowered technology use.
